Saturday 30th March saw the grand opening of the 1891 Pavilion.
After months of hard work removing plaster and walls, having a new roof, a new floor and being dry lined, walls and ceiling painted, bar fitted and flooring laid, and then fitted out with tables and chairs and the brewery installing cooler and bar furniture we were ready in time to open before the start of the 2024 season.
We were lucky in that the weather was kind and allowed a number of members to attend to see the ribbon cut and the bar officially opened.
Former player Dave Wells (who holds the record for number of career runs by an amateur player) was invited to perform the ceremony, and can be seen with club President Dave Spence, Chair Adele Bolton and 2024 professional Kieren Grimshaw along with a number of committee members.
