Cricketing Juniors

As a Junior set up, Rishton Cricket Club is envied by all other clubs in the Lancashire League. Competitive cricket is provided for all children (girls and boys) from the school year 1 right up to school year 13. Underpinning this competitive cricket is a structured coaching set up which provides all children with ECB qualified coaches. The coaching takes place on our Blackburn Road ground and is supported by our all-weather two-lane net facility which was installed at the St Albans Road side of the ground two years ago at a cost approaching £50000. All coaches are fully DBS checked. Once children become more skilled and progress through their age group teams, they become eligible to play in the Senior Teams in the J.W. Lees Lancashire League. This pathway is open to both boys and girls. Our current Ladies coach is Georgina Bolton who was a regular player at senior level having made her way through the Rishton Junior set up. Some of our young players have gone on to represent Lancashire. At Rishton we strive to provide excellent training in a safe and fun environment. We aim to provide every child no matter their abilities the chance to play in regular cricket matches. All are welcome to join us whether they have experience or have never picked up a bat! Under 11s B - Ben Hartley. Under 9s - Matt Nuttall & Mick Winkley. Indoor winter training 2025 to take place at Hyndburn Academy. Under 15's and under 18's (with the senior teams). Thursdays - 6th February until 3rd April inclusive. 6.00 until 8.00 p.m. JUNIORS ( Under 9s, 11s and 13s ). Fridays - 7th February until 4th April inclusive. 6.00 until 8.00 p.m. Outdoor training for the 2025 season yet to be confirmed.
